The Positive Space is an exhibition of work by 40 Irish photographers at Brown Thomas in Dublin, in association with the Gallery of Photography Ireland.
The exhibition is an expansion of ‘The Positive Space’ which Anthony Remedy, along with Corina and Naomi Gaffey, had run last year. During lockdown they had turned 500 empty advertising spaces across Dublin City into a public exhibition of inspiring photographic work by 27 Irish photographers. The project was crowd funded, raising €10k, and was available to view across the city between 22nd June – 12th July 2020.
The original public exhibition of work was photographed throughout the city and is currently displayed at the entrance of the new exhibition space, covering the windows. This creates an immersive experience for the viewers as they can experience both the old and new iterations of ‘The Positive Space’ simultaneously.
The Positive Space has grown over the last year and they have now partnered with Brown Thomas to exhibit the photographic work of 40 Irish photographers. The exhibition occupies Hugh Brown’s Restaurant on the 3rd floor of the department store on Grafton Street and includes 40 framed photographs, one from each photographer. A select few of the works are also displayed as large unframed prints.
These forty artworks are also available to purchase as 10×8 inch prints for €120 (unframed) and €200 (framed), with a portion of the proceeds going to Saint Vincent De Paul. You can purchase a print in store or online at Brown Thomas.
