I am very excited to announce that I will be curating the 2022 edition of the SCOOP Foundation’s Contemporary Art Auction.
The SCOOP Art Auctions have become the backbone of the SCOOP Foundation’s annual fundraising endeavours over the past 10 years which allow them to grow and support a wide range of projects, from building schools to providing remote education programmes for young displaced kids in the Middle East.
I had the pleasure of curating the 2021 edition of the SCOOP Art Auction, where a total of 430 artworks went up for auction raising over €230,000! Funds raised during the auction were be split 50/50 between an Artist Fund, which helped support artists during the pandemic, and for SCOOP to help them develop their Remote Learning Programmes for young persons living in Direct Provision centres in Ireland, and for displaced teenagers living in Displacement Camps in Iraqi Kurdistan. SCOOP were also developing a website to help displaced young persons learn about their Human Rights.
This year, the SCOOP auction will include an exhibition of selected work and a one-day live auction on Sunday the 24th of April in The Iveagh Garden Hotel on Harcourt St, Dublin 2. Running in tandem with the exhibition of original artwork, will be a timed auction featuring prints and more!
Launch event: Wednesday 20th April (timed auction starts on this date also)
Exhibition: 21st & 22nd (some private viewings on the 23rd)
Live auction: Sunday 24th April from 2pm
Timed auction ends: Friday 29th April, 10pm
