Maser is a visual artist based in Dublin. Having started out in the graffiti scene back in the 90s, Maser has since gone on to paint murals and exhibit artworks throughout Ireland, Europe, and the US. In a departure from the urban environment which plays a large role in his artistic practice, Maser reinterprets imagery from his time spent exploring nature over the last year in his latest series of work at Gormleys Fine Art.
Inspired by a collection of ephemera and memories gathered during his travels around the country, Maser has produced a series of 17 new works on canvas. Featured throughout these paintings are visual elements found in nature, from foliage to rays of sunlights, which have all been translated through the artist’s signature graphic and abstract style of painting.
These paintings beautifully bookmark the artist’s experience as well as the important role that our natural environment has played over the past 18 months, as most of us relied on it heavily during lockdown. Maser describes his hikes and trips as “resorting to nature as a saviour”, which is encapsulated in his bright and vibrant artworks.
